The London-based Centre for Kurdish Progress is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit organisation inaugurated in June 2014 with a focus on Kurdistan and Kurdish people both in the UK and abroad.
Current events across the Middle East, the crises in Syria and Iraq and the threat of Islamic State (IS) have brought ever-greater significance to the Kurdish issue, making a working knowledge of it a critical point of interest to observers, commentators and analysts of the region’s present situation.
We would like to organise more public forums and bring Kurds from all four parts of Kurdistan together to widen public knowledge of the issues they face and the ongoing political, economic and cultural developments within and coming from these communities. At present Kurdish-led movements highlight organic drives for social democratic values, gender equality and pluralism in the Middle East. The Centre for Kurdish Progress aims to raise awareness of these significant efforts.
